I explored new ways of lumbering bamboo and sought a form that would blend in with the modern living environment. The "outer skin" of the bamboo, which is the strongest part of the bamboo, is pasted together to complement each other and create the structural strength of the chair. The curved surfaces of the bamboo when pasted together give the chair its unique shape and characteristics, as do the joints between the members and the chamfered surfaces. To preserve the expression of the bamboo, it is dyed instead of painted, and finished with a blue bamboo dye that has the blue color typical of bamboo.
